Joshua Kirven, Ph.D.

Dr. Joshua Kirven is the chief consultant and founder of KirvKorp Impact Solutions, a strategic communications, human capital, and innovative outreach firm that delivers services to diverse populations and communities. Josh is a clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience as an academic, advocate, researcher, community practitioner, clinical social worker, and trainer.  His scope of work looks at the social and public determinants of mental health stressors causing health decline, community alienation and deviant behavior of disenfranchised individuals and other marginalized groups. His practice posits particular focus on place- and SES-related disparities across the course of life. Josh is a faculty member in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a solid record of research, scholarship, practice and service.   His TTA (Training and Technical Assistance) and SME (Subject Matter Expert) work centers around Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) multidisciplinary training, community outreach, capacity building, and public safety solutions intersecting policy and practice, behavioral health, forensic mitigation, SUD justice, and access to care.  Josh is a Forensic Mental Health Evaluator and is a graduate of Hampton University, University of South Carolina, and The Ohio State University.
